Elisha has been working in the Cultural, Resiliency and Motivation lab for one year as a research assistant and as the Lab Manager. Throughout her time in the lab, Elisha has contributed greatly through many projects in IRB application, literature review, training new research assistants, and presenting her research at the undergraduate symposium. She graduated from UCR in 2021 with a BA in Psychology. She is interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in developmental psychology, with interests in ethnic-racial identity and racial socialization.

Research Interests: mental health effects on students, academic aspiration-gap, Latinx first generation students

Samira is a first-generation Psychology and Education double major student. She was born and raised in Fontana, CA. While in undergrad, Samira is involved in Latino Union, a Latinx organization that emphasizes the importance of higher education to first gen/hispanic identifying communities. She plans to enlighten underrepresented groups to recognize the importance of mental health and the power education holds, through teaching K-12 students in the Inland Empire. During her spare time, Samira enjoys trying new coffee shops and spending time with her bunny, Chloe.

Research Interests:

Mateo is a first-generation, fourth-year psychology major. He is a research assistant working in the Cultural, Resiliency Motivation lab working since the Fall of 2022. Mateo has contributed to others’ projects by helping do literature reviews and research. He is interested in working with mental health, procrastination, and how these things can affect different communities. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym and leading a healthy lifestyle. He also likes to hang out with friends, go to concerts, and try new foods!
